, n. [L. sideratio; sidero, to blast, from sidus, a star.]
1. A blasting or blast in plants; a sudden deprivation of sense; an apoplexy; a slight erysipelas.
2. A sphacelus, or a species of erysipelas, vulgarly called a blast.
