In my view, the Christian religion is the most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government ought to be instructed... PEC'TORAL, a. [L. pectoralis, from pectus, breast.]

Pertaining to the breast; as the pectoral muscles; pectoral medicines.

The pectoral fins of a fish are situated on the sides of the fish, behind the gills.

1. A sacerdotal habit or vestment worn by the Jewish high priest, called in our version of the Bible, a breastplate.

2. A medicine adapted to cure or relieve complaints of the breast and lungs.

My opinion is that the 2000-page hard-cover edition is the only good viable solution at this time. The compact edition was a bit disappointing and the CD-ROM as well.
